Welcome and Worship
What to Expect When You Visit Our Church

Times for Sunday School and Worship

Welcome to our community church where our mission is to know Christ, to build genuine Christian community, and to be agents of God’s grace locally, regionally and globally. Our main entrance is under the steeple and the sanctuary is just inside on your right. A hospitality host will be available to answer any questions you may have about our church.

Most every Sunday at 9:15 we offer Sunday School for young and old. Our children’s classes are offered for toddlers, 3 years by September 30, through adult, with childcare available for infants and children under 3 years. Adult studies are held in different locations through the church and the topics vary throughout the year. Middle School and Senior High Youth also meet prior to worship service. Locations for all classes are posted.

Every Sunday morning we come together to worship our Savior Jesus Christ as a community beginning at 10:30 in our Sanctuary (summer worship changes to 9:30 start). Most services are one hour in length. Our worship service has a mix of traditional and informal elements. Our music combines contemporary praise music and traditional hymns rooted in the great traditions of the United Methodist church. At the heart of the message lived and preached here is the astonishing and life-changing grace of God, poured out in the life, death and resurrection of Jesus, and intended to put us back into right relationship with God and with those around us. No matter who we are, or what the past has been, there is hope! For “while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” (Romans 5:8). Therefore, there is a place for us within the kingdom of God – and a place for you here at Wayne UMC.

After the worship service stay for fellowship hour where you can grab coffee, a snack and conversation with fellow Christians.

What Do I Wear?

Come with an open heart. There is no official formal dress code. Men wear khakis, jeans or suits. Women wear slacks, skirts to dresses.

When is Communion?

We offer holy communion on the first Sunday of every month. You do not need to be a member of our church to come to Christ’s table. It is an open invitation.

Where Do I Park?

Parking can be found in the immediate back parking lot, across the street in the community parking lot, or on Runnymeade Avenue (2 parking spots are reserved for guests) or South Wayne Avenue. The church is wheel-chair accessible with ramps outside and an elevator.

We are located in the heart of downtown Wayne, less than 1 mile from the Wayne train station – North Wayne Avenue and West Aves (running SEPTA’s R5 schedule).

We look forward to your visit.
