MUSIC AT WAYNE UMC

Our heavenly father speaks to us through many avenues of worship. Music opens our hearts and our minds to meditation and prayer, re-tells bible stories, reminds us of our missions in life, inspires us in positive ways, and offers a universal language to spread the gospel around the world. The music ministry program at Wayne United Methodist Church seeks to enrich our worship experience through a wide variety of musical styles and outlets.

These include:
The Bell Choir, The Youth Choir, The Wesley Choir, The Cherub Choir, The Praise Choir, The Brass Choir, Orchestra, Soloist, and more.

Our choirs and musical groups are open to all guests and congregation members. We are always happy to welcome new participants. Come join us in worship! Whether you choose to be in one of our musical groups or singing in the congregation, let's make a joyful noise to the Lord!

Body, Mind, Spirit, Voice... It Takes the Whole Person to Sing & Rejoice!

At Wayne UMC, we have a children’s choir program for children from age 4 through 5th grade. Through the songs that we share in worship, we tell some of our favorite Bible stories, and we lead the congregation is praising God through song.

At our rehearsals, we spend some time preparing our worship music, and we spend some time laying a foundation of music literacy. The younger choir gets a sense of steady beat from clapping, stomping, and playing rhythm instruments. The older choir reads the musical notation of the songs, and learns to recognize rhythm patterns and melodic intervals. Most of all, we have fun!
Come join us...

Each of the choirs sings in worship about once a month during the school year, and at the Family Christmas Eve service. The Wesley choir also puts on a service at a retirement home each year, and participates with choirs from other churches in choir festivals.
