Preschool (3 yrs by 9/30) - Pre-K: Follow the Teddy Bear signs to Room 101. Bible stories, songs, crafts and classroom play with church friends. After Sunday School preschool children may stay in their rooms during the worship service or may attend worship with their family and return after children's dismissal, about 15 minutes into the worship service.
Grades K through 5: Our Elementary age program is based on the Workshop Rotation Model (WoRM) for Sunday School. The children spend several weeks learning one key Bible story many different ways. Each week the classes rotate to a different workshop that emphasizes a different style of learning. Our workshop possibilities include Drama, Missions, Art, Computer, Video, Games, and Cooking.
WoRM classes begin in the art room on the top of our Education Wing. Follow the Wayne Kids signs.
Grades 6 through 8: Our Middle school class studies their faith in a variety of ways. This year we plan to produce a bible based skit production.
Grades 9 through 12: Our High school class meets together with our Director of Youth Ministry and discusses faith issues and Bible stories appropriate to their age level.

Adult Classes:
The Fred Ford class is named for the beloved, long time teacher of this class, which is dedicated to the idea that Christian education is a life-long process. Each member of the class takes a turn suggesting a book about which s/he will lead a discussion for a number of weeks. The entire class participates in discussions about the week’s reading from the book. Books are chosen for their value in deepening our understanding and practice of our faith. The class currently meets at 9:15 on Sunday mornings in the library on the second floor of the education wing. We warmly invite you to join our class!
The Fellowship Class presents a variety of studies each year often reflecting on Biblical themes and from the perspective of adults and families living a Christian lifestyle in a challenging world. They meet in room 200 on the second floor of the Christian Education wing.
Weekly Bible Studies:
Women's Bible Study meets 2nd & 4th Mondays of the month, 7:00-8:30 PM in the Reading Room – Starts again September 27th. Tuesday Bible Study for women meets every Tuesday morning from 10:15 - 11:30 AM in Room 100 – Starts again Monday, September 12. HOWEVER, we do take a break from our Women's Bible Studies during the summer and start up again in on the dates listed.
Dialog Breakfast for all adults is for the early birds. This group meets for study, fellowship and a light breakfast every Thursday at 6:15 AM in the Church Parlor. |

At Wayne UMC we believe that learning should be fun and active. Many adults take part in the teaching/guiding process. We teach a faith that “has feet” and our elementary children do about three mission projects a year.
Our adult classes are short term studies that have ranged from a Bible study on a particular book of the Bible to a lovely Advent study on the stories behind the Christmas Carols to a study of What Would Jesus Eat. At times we offer specialized studies on marriage and parenting as well.
Many of my teachers have found that teaching adults or children has deepened their faith more than if they had remained in the student role.
Join us and bring your children each Sunday. Grow your relationship and their relationship with God and know the warmth and love that comes from being a part of a church family.
We would be so happy to meet with you and answer any questions you may have.
