We invite you to become a part of our community. At WayneUMC we lay stress on biblical preaching, powerful music, and opportunities for learning and service throughout the week, to the end that all might come to experience and grow in God's grace. As part of the United Methodist Church, we embrace the essentials of
historic Christian teaching, as outlined in the Apostles' and Nicene Creeds, and trace our history back to the work of John Wesley (1703-1791).

Disciple II is designed for everyone who has taken Disciple I, and this intensive, 32-week study will focus on the major and minor Old Testament prophets, and the thirteen letters traditionally attributed to Paul. Several themes weave their way through the study: the call to remember, the call to repentance, the need for renewed vision (eyes to see, ears to hear), and the place of community. Come to our orientation session on Tuesday, September 20, at 7 PM to receive your workbooks, and get an overview of what is to come. The first full class is September 27. Please contact Pastor Joe at j.dipaolo@wayneumc.org for more information.
Time:
9:15am-11:15am
Description:
Disciple I is a great overview and introduction to the Bible for people who have always wanted to get to know the Word better, but perhaps have not known where to begin.
Now is your chance! Beginning September 28, Pastor Joe will lead a class known as
Disciple I – it is a 34-week intensive group study that will have you read through about 80% of the Bible. A workbook will be distributed that guides you in daily readings. We will meet as a group once a week, Wednesday mornings from 9:15-11:15, and our class will include discussion, a video component and a focused study led by the pastor on one of the texts for that week.
About 40 people from Wayne UMC have already been through the course, and will testify to the power of Disciple in their lives. An orientation will be held on Wednesday September 21 (which will not be that long) at 9:15 to answer questions about the study and distribute the workbooks; come that day if you are considering, but not sure about it. Please contact Pastor Joe at j.dipaolo@wayneumc.org for more information.

A time for women to create and share
This Fall, Amy Wildey and Janet French will lead a second-Wednesday-of-the-month evening craft and chat time. Each meeting will be from 7 - 9ish and feature a pre-chosen project that can be finished (hopefully) in the time given. A materials fee will be collected, usually not more than $4-5. Those wishing to join in the fun while working on their own brought-from-home craft are most welcome. Coffee and Tea will be available and we can all take turns bringing a simple snack. The first meeting will be Wednesday, September 21st. We will get organized and do a simple craft
together. We will meet in the upstairs Art Room. RSVPs are SO helpful for supply planning, but we will always have a little extra so not strictly necessary... but supplies will go to those who have RSVP'd first so let me know if you want to come...

Friday Night Marriage Enrichment Class
To Strengthen Marriage!
“Love and Respect” ~ Every other Friday, 7:15-8:30 PM ~ Begins October 7
Marriage is under many strains, and many would say even under assault, in our culture. This fall, all married couples are invited to join us for a special study on alternate Fridays at the church – think of it as a “date night!” Pastor Joe will facilitate the class which features a video presentation and workbook component. The seminar features presentations for couples describing the importance of love and respect in marriage, while highlighting the differences between males and females in communication and thinking styles. It also emphasizes the spiritual component in making marriages strong and lasting.
